Tips To Finding A Great Location For Your Wedding Ceremony And Reception

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

By Rose Smith You want your wedding ceremony to be perfect, and the reception that follows to be fabulous, but how do you achieve that dream idea? A lot of it starts with your wedding location. First, you will want to find venues that are suitable to your wedding theme, if you have one. Holding your reception at a seafood restaurant would be out of place for a Christmas or western themed wedding for obvious reasons. However, don’t get stuck on this idea either. If your theme is “Rock and Roll” you can still have your ceremony in a quaint church and use subtle decorations to convey the theme. Here are a few tips to keep in mind as you scout around looking for that perfect location. Start by taking a drive around the town jotting down ideas as you pass by possible venues. Take your time when looking for a good location for the ceremony and/or reception. Don’t rush in and book the first place you visit. Search out 2 or 3 different locations and then do a comparison of the sites (this applies to both the ceremony location and the reception location.) In some cases, you may not be able to book the date you’ve chosen to be married on and will need an alternative choice. It’s always good to have options. Take a checklist of questions that you want answered when you go so you can be sure you’ll be able to find a place that will provide exactly what you want and need. Ask family, friends, co-workers even strangers on the bus, if they know of any good locations. You may be pleasantly surprised at some of the inspired answers you could receive of spots you would never have thought of. Call and make appointments to tour your top three picks. Don’t commit to anything during your first visit. Your first visit should be to get a good visual of the location, as well as have all of your questions answered regarding the venue. Take notes wherever you go. Jot down impressions of when you first enter the area, note how you were treated - was the person helpful or did you have to stand around waiting to be noticed? That’s a pretty good indication of how they’ll handle the wedding services. Make sure to look at available parking in the area, plus wheelchair access (if it might be needed) into the building. How large is the entrance and is there room out front for people to stand when the bridal party exits? Can a limousine or several cars park out front for the bridal party? Bring an instant Polaroid or digital camera with you and take pictures of the outside of the building and surrounding area, including the parking lot and entrance. Take pictures of the inside as well, including the entrance hall, the altar area, pews, and rooms that can be used for getting ready just before the ceremony. These will help you to recall what each place looked like once you get home. When checking out several locations they can start to blur together. Also, you will notice things in the pictures that you may not have noticed on your visual tour. The above tips should help to get you started in the right direction. Obviously, there is a lot more involved in choosing a special place to hold your wedding ceremony and reception than can be discussed in a short article. If you are looking for more advice on how to plan a great wedding, while keeping your expenses in check, you can find some great wedding planning e-books on the Internet that will guide you step-by-step through the whole process. You Must Know Your Market

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

By Lance Winslow When launching a new product or service into the marketplace in a particular market sector you must understand and know your target customer. You must know the demographics of your market including the buying behavior of the customer and the trends that are happening in the marketplace. You must know your market. If you fail to understand and adapt to the market changes as they occur or if you fail to register the reality of the marketplace before you start you will decrease your desired results. You want to make sure that your marketing teams understand all of this or you will increase chances of failure or greatly decrease your chances for achieving your intended goals. Moreover the chances of not achieving your goals in the marketplace are almost guaranteed. In a competent marketing team or marketing plan which takes into consideration knowing their market and understanding their customer has a better chance of succeeding. One of the simplest ways to do this is to survey the customer and ask potential customers what they want and study their buying behavior. This is more than just doing surveys and ad hoc interviews. You must get into the minds of the consumers and potential customers, which will be buying your product in the marketplace and find out their needs and desires. Additionally you’ll need to determine how much they’re willing to pay and make darn sure you can afford to produce the product or service to their liking and their specifications for the price that they’re willing to pay. I hope you will consider this in 2006. “Lance Winslow” - Online Think Tank forum board. Natural Appetite Suppressant from Africa is Next Weight Loss Breakthrough - Hoodia Gordonii

Saturday, December 29th, 2007

By Noah Rider What was once a useful and important ingredient in any South African Bushmans journey through the desert, is now a powerful supplement that is sure to be the sliced bread of the weight loss industry. Hoodia Gordonii has been used for centuries by African tribesmen to ward off hunger during long trips and pilgrimages. It is fully natural with no known side effects. Hoodia Gordonii comes from the fruit of an unsightly cactus plant in the Kalahari Desert in southern Africa. The plant grows in several countries including Namibia where heavy demand for Hoodia Gordonii made the government impose a protected status on the plant. Other African countries where the plant grows are Botswana and Angola. It takes about 5 years before Hoodia’s pale purple flowers appear and the cactus can be harvested. Although there are 20 types of Hoodia, only the Hoodia Gordonii variety is believed to contain the natural appetite suppressant. The plant was discovered after scientists noticed that wild animals that ate the plant, lost weight. The initial studies were conducted as part of an indigenous food study by the South African Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in the 1960s. The scientists isolated the specific ingredient that caused the animals to stop eating. Hoodia Gordonii tricks the brain into thinking that the body is full and that the person taking it has eaten already. Other benefits cited include a sense of well being; a reduction in hunger pangs long after meals and less interest in food in general. Hoodia Gordonii achieves this without the regular side effects of your typical diet pills such as a racing heart, unsettled stomach or damage to the liver. Hoodia Gordonii and its appetite suppressing abilities are now a mainstream topic picking up news coverage from such popular networks and shows as CBS News, 60 Minutes and the Oprah show. The correct dose of Hoodia Gordonii will depend on a person’s weight, diet, lifestyle, and metabolism although generally speaking, less than 1,000 milligrams a day is usually enough for the average person. What Is Grodan Stonewool

Friday, December 28th, 2007

By Jay Korelitz Mineral wool is used for its ability to hold large quantities of water and at the same time maintain a high percentage of air as well. This aids root growth and nutrient uptake. The fibrous nature of mineral wool also provides a good mechanical structure to hold the plant stable. Mineral wool has a high pH, which is unsuitable to plant growth. This requires correcting or conditioning. Conditioned mineral wool has a stable pH over long periods of time. Stone wool is the main reason that most of the worlds greenhouse vegetables are now grown hydroponically. At full saturation, Grodan holds 80-90% of its volume in water. It is wrapped in biodegradable plastic and the stonewool can be re-used in your garden to improve the aeration and water holding capacity. Grodan stonewool went into space on Challenger in 1986 and is still being used in NASA’s testing with hydroponics. You will find Grodan stonewool in some garden centers and in virtually all hydroponics shops in North America. It is back to Nature. The raw material is basalt rocks and chalk. These are melted at 1600 C. The lava is blown into a spinning chamber, which pulls the lava into fibers, much like ‘cotton candy’. When Mother nature makes this wool we call it ‘angel hair’. If you have ever visited a volcano, you may have seen the fluffy angel hair flying around. The fibers are packed together into a mat and cut Grodan slabs & cubes from it. The stonewool granulate is bags with little flocks of ‘angel hair’. In this day and age we are all much more aware of the importance of protecting our environment. What many do not know is that growing hydroponically is far better for the environment than traditional growing methods; You have the choice of recycling the water you drain, instead of leaching fertilizer into the ground. Starting with a pathogen-free product, you have less disease problems and thus use far less pesticides (90% less). Fertilizer is used only in half strength and overall a commercial grower uses only 25% of the amount of fertilizer normally required for the same crop grown in soil. Rockwool is produced in blocks ranging in size from 1.5″x1.5″x1.5″ to 6″x6″x6″ and every size in between and in slabs 3 foot long x 6″ wide. Important facts about Grodan Stonewool: * Grodan stonewool was developed in Denmark in the early 1970’s. The process makes excellent use of nature resources; 37 cu.ft. of wool can be produced from 1 cu. ft. of rocks.* Today most Grodan is pro-duced from recycled Grodan.* Grodan stonewool is the main reason that most of the worlds greenhouse vegetables are now grown hydroponically.* At full saturation, Grodan holds 80-90% of its volume in water. It is wrapped in biodegradable plastic and the stonewool can be re-used in your garden to improve the aeration and water holding capacity.* Grodan stonewool went into space on Challenger in 1986 and is still being used in NASA’s testing with hydroponics.* You will also find Grodan products at the EPCOT center / Walt Disney in Florida The fibres themselves are excellent conductors of heat, but they package air so well, that when pressed into rolls and sheets, rockwool makes for an excellent and reliable insulator. Batts, sheets and roll made of rockwool are a poor conductor of heat and sound. Fire resistive properties for mineral wools is given here in descending order: 1. fibreglass, 2. stone wool, 3. ceramic fibres. No conventional building materials, including mineral wool are immune to the effects of fire of sufficient duration or intensity. However, each of the aforementioned three wools make common components in passive fire protection systems, such as in spray fireproofing, stud cavities in drywall assemblies required to have a fire-resistance rating, packing materials in firestops and more. Mineral wools are unattractive to rodents but will provide a structure for bacterial growth if allowed to become wet. Other uses are in resin bonded panels, growth medium in hydroponics, filler in compounds for gaskets, brake pads, in plastics in the automotive industry and as a filtering medium. Trade Show Promotional Items

Tuesday, December 25th, 2007

By Jason Gluckman Trade shows are extensively used sales promotion tools. They provide companies with the opportunity to introduce and display their products. This brings the companys products and consumers in direct contact with each other. Seeing is believing is the theme behind large-scale trade shows. Coupons, premiums and free offers have become common and effective trade shows promotional items. Coupons are certificates that offer price reductions to consumers for specified items. Coupons normally perform two specific functions for the manufacturer. Firstly, they make customers want to take advantage of the bargain. Secondly, they serve as an inducement to the channel for stocking the items. The manufacturer thus succeeds in attracting consumers as well as in prompting the channel to stock the merchandise through introducing coupons. They are useful for introducing a new product as well as for strengthening the sale of an existing product. Manufacturers worldwide uses premiums and free offers as trade show promotional items. Multi-product firms sometimes use a chain of bargains for promoting a chain of products. They make a free offer of product A along with the purchase of product B, and a free offer of product B along with the purchase of product C. Free samples are also used as a trade show promotional item. Free samples are offered to persuade consumers to try them out. By offering free samples to a large section of a new market, a company tries to gain entry into that market. Of course, the constraint in utilizing this tool is that the product should be of low unit cost and susceptible to frequent repeat purchases. Soaps, detergents and coffee are examples of products which are normally popularized by providing free samples. Companies also distribute gifts to people– customers, dealers and influential and key people. These gifts include pens, pencils, calendars, and diaries. Nokia Cellular Phone - A Step By Step Guide To Upgrade Your N80 Nokia Cellular Phone

Monday, December 24th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Neil_Day]Neil Day If youve got a Nokia cellular phone you probably have no idea of the tips and tricks out there for your phone. I hope to share some of that knowledge with you here. Do you need to upgrade your Nokia cellular phone N80 to N80ie or internet edition? The Nokia N80ie is the same hardware as the N80, just the firmware is different. So you can do a firmware upgrade on your stock Nokia N80 and turn it into an N80ie! Why should you want to do this? The Nokia cellular phone N80ie has VoIP/sip support which allows you to make WLAN phone calls, better WLAN support, new internet applications and some bug fixes. The upgrade process is confusing but this step by step guide should help you out. Before you begin youll need a USB cable, NSS (Nemesis Service Suite), Nokia Software Updater (NSU) and Nokia PC Suite to back up your data. You first need to determine if you have a branded or unbranded Nokia cellular phone N80. The Nokia updater software will not let you upgrade the firmware if it determines you have a branded Nokia phone. But thats ok as you can unbrand it! This step also works if you want to change the region your phone is in from say Europe to somewhere else. Install the Nemesis Service Suite (NSS) and choose to not install virtual USB drivers. Connect the USB cable to the Nokia cellular phone N80 and select PC Suite mode. Run the program and in the upper right hand corner click on the magnifying glass icon. The software will run some tests and then when its done click the Phone Info tab. In the Production Data Edit section click the Read button. The status bar will show that its reading values and then there should be a number in the Product Code: field. If you want to change regions then enter the product code for the new region. Choose carefully as you cannot change this value again until a new firmware is released. Before entering the new product code, write down the old one! The product codes can be found on the internet. Enter in the new product code, click the Enable check box and then click the Write button. At this point you could backup your phone with the Nokia PC Suite. Once youve backed up your data, run the Nokia Software Updater. This will check your phone and let you know if there are any firmware updates available. Expect a very long wait while the software runs its checks. Also expect to run the check a few times before it will find the firmware upgrade. When it finds it, follow the prompts to get the firmware loaded. Do not touch the Nokia cellular phone, USB cable, computer, microwave, telephone, radio or anything at all nearby while it is upgrading the firmware. Better yet just leave for awhile and then come back to check on it. After it has upgraded the firmware you are done! Hunky Magoo

Saturday, December 22nd, 2007

By Marsha Jordan Hunky Magoo is a fitting nickname for the husband. Its unusual and so is he. I call him H.M. He likes to think it stands for His Majesty. H.M. sometimes gives the impression of being unfriendly, but deep down in his heart, hes really anti-social. Like all men, he has his little idiosyncracies. For one thing, hes a pack rat. I havent been able to park my van in our three car garage for ten years because its overflowing with all the junk hes collected. He hangs onto everything hes ever owned, including the wing tip shoes he bought for our wedding thirty years ago. I cant sneak them out of the house, because he routinely checks the garbage to see if Ive thrown away any of his stuff. He thinks the groovy polyester pants he wore in the seventies still have a few good years in them. Ive even caught him wearing my cleaning rags. Hunkys the most handsome, thoughtful, charming husband in the universe — in his opinion. He brags that he can do the work of three men, and its true, if the three men are Larry, Moe, and Curly. He also brags about having a mind like a steel trap. I tell him hes right about that, because nothing can penetrate it. I also tell him the trap must be stuck, because he keeps forgetting whos the boss around here. H.M.s perspective is very different from mine. For instance, he doesnt feel as strongly as I do about things like empty toilet paper rolls. Then theres the issue of dirty underwear. He seems to believe they belong on the bathroom floor. Every morning, I pick them up, along with enough back hair to fill a trash bag. (Im saving it to weave a rug). He also has some odd ideas about home decorating. Once, we were to show our house to prospective buyers on a day I had to work. That left H.M. in charge of giving the tour. That morning, I ran through the house giving it a quick inspection. Everything looked good. I grabbed the dirty laundry from the bedroom, ran downstairs, and dropped it into the washer before going out the door. When I came home that night, the couple was just leaving. I met them on the front porch, thanked them for coming, and went inside to ask the husband how the showing went. As I stepped through the door, I saw THEM! There, on the stairs leading up to our bedroom — on the third step to be exact — was a pair of my holey, white, cotton, grandma underwear. At that moment, I cant be sure, but I think I had a stroke. I could almost hear those ragged old bloomers screaming, Look at me! Look at me! They mocked me, saying, Nya, Nya! Ive been here all day, right out in the open for all the world to see, and there wasnt a darn thing you could do about it! I was mortified. It was the second most embarrassing event of my life. The first most embarrassing was in second grade when my mother gave me a haircut and a poodle perm the day before class pictures were taken. That horrific memory of those tight, one-quarter-inch, fuzzy curls and the huge red bow on top of my head, was captured on film to be ridiculed forever by future generations. Anyway, after my stroke, I got up off the floor, turned to the husband, and groaned, Please tell me these were not here when the couple walked through the house. Yeah, they were, he answered, with the same casual tone he would use to say, Nice weather were having, ha? I felt a second stroke coming on. An inferno of anger was rising from the pit of my stomach and felt as if it would shoot out my ears. Yet, I made a valiant attempt to control myself. I spoke as calmly as I could. Tell me, I said quietly. Then, a little louder, I asked, Why would you leave them there? Finally, I yelled, Why didnt you pick them up? Looking at me as if I were Quasimodos ugly cousin from Neptune, he sighed and said, I didnt want to call attention to them, thats why! Spouses are like habits. Sometimes you really want to kick them.
